Oh my goodness I've been neglecting this journal! Okay, a couple things...and happy Pride! <3
First, the big one: the Character Bleed box set - containing the original three novels, and a new author’s note and updated cover art - is coming out June 10 from JMS Books! Ebook first, then paperback - and yes, it’ll be massive! *laughs*
This is closer to the way I originally wrote it, as one giant novel - I broke it into a trilogy to, y'know, make it publishable! But now we're doing it as one big story! This volume includes the short stories that came with each book of the trilogy - the short stories that were published separately will get collected into a second volume, coming soon! (And there might be a new one in there...I've been wanting to do the Leather & Tea crossover story, purely for fun, just because I want to. This is a good excuse. And it's possible that Colby and Ben, of all people, have met before...)
Pre-orders are up at JMS already, though I think not at Amazon etc yet! Come order yours at JMS now! And here's the cover!

Second, I've got the rights back to A Prophecy for Two, my first novel! (First written. Demon came out first, because of the vagaries of publishers.) JMS wants it - we've already chatted about it - so I'm going to do a quick polish (so it's a little more in line with my current writing style), and maybe one new bonus story to include with it so there's new content, and then we'll republish it! (If you had a pending order with Inkshares, they'll fulfill any outstanding orders.) Inkshares also sent me their remaining stock of paperbacks - about 14 - which is more paperbacks than I really need, so if you want one of those, let me know and maybe we can do PayPal or something, just for a couple bucks plus shipping? They'll have rarity value now! *laughs*
I am also happy to sign them and such. (I will go ahead and say now that some, not all, of them have...poorly printed covers, whites that came out grey-ish, literal dirt, as if they were stored in, well, dirt...there are a few reasons I'm less than thrilled about Inkshares - it's complicated and should be its own future post - but that treatment of paperbacks, that "this isn't important" attitude, is one of the reasons. Some of them do look good though!)
Third! I'll be in Portland, Oregon in October for the PAMLA conference (I'm the Area Chair for the Fantasy area) - anyone around? Want to say hi or meet up? I've been to Portland once before but it was also for a conference and we basically just stayed in the hotel, so I am also open to interesting suggestions of nearby craft breweries, museums and historical things, and pretty gardens! This year we shall be at the Hilton Portland Downtown, I believe. Not sure if Awesome Husband wants to come - he was kind of interested, he's never been to Oregon, but it might depend on his work schedule.
There's probably more but this is getting long, so I'll stop there! I am also back teaching on campus for the first time in two and a half years, so I'm in the office typing this. Very odd. Still very quiet because most summer classes haven't begun yet (mine hasn't, but my Writing Center advising shift has). Totally forgot to request my faculty parking permit ahead of time, because driving? to campus? what? So I just now did the request online, fingers crossed that no one's checking the parking lot yet or they're being nice about it....
